Frequently
Asked Questions
What
is Stainless Steel?
Stainless
Steel is an alloy of different metals including
Chromium and Nickel, which make it extremely
hard-wearing. Its appearance is similar to Platinum,
but it comes at a fraction of the cost. It is
the most serviceable practical metal, which is
durable enough for everyday and long-term wear.
Will
it turn my skin green/black?
No.
However, statistics say that 1 in every 1000 people
will react to Stainless Steel for unknown reasons,
but typically down to the chemicals released by that
persons body. We're not sure how accurate
these stats are as we have sold thousands of rings
and have only ever had 1 customer say they had a
reaction. Stainless Steel is a hypoallergenic
metal, which is why it is advised that people having
body piercing done, ensure that the needle is
Stainless Steel and that the first Studs are either
Stainless Steel or 18K Gold. There has been much
research done into metal allergies and studies have
shown that metal from other jewellery and/or
piercings will absorb into a persons skin and cause
other jewellery and/or piercings to react.
They say that someone with a lot of piercings is
more likely to react to the jewellery they wear
because of the amount of metal absorbed by their
piercings. However, although cases of people
having a reaction to Stainless Steel are rare, they can
happen.
Can
I get it wet / will it rust?
Yes
you can get it wet - it will not rust.
Can
I get soap & washing up liquid on it?
Yes.
It is resistant to chemicals & corrosion.
Will
it bend, dent or fade in time?
No,
it is a very hard metal - it will not bend (unless
it is extremely thin - less than 1mm). It does
not dent like metals such as Silver. It does not
fade or tarnish.
I
cannot see the ring size I want, do you stock it?
Possibly.
It's best to email us and ask if we have a
particular size in stock. We have stock arrive
weekly and often do not get around to updating the
sizes for several days.
I
want a design made, can you do that?
No,
we do not make the jewellery. We by directly from a
jewellery manufacturer.
Why
are your products more expensive in your ebay store
than on your website?
As
with any business, we have overheads to pay, and
these are higher for the ebay store. We
therefore have to take this into account when
pricing our ebay items.
Are
the stock quantities shown on your website the only
stock you have?
No.
We have more stock than what is indicated on the
website for a majority of the products. A proportion
of our stock is allocated to our ebay store which is
not shown in the stock quantities on our website,
and we have additional stock which is not allocated.
What
is PVD coating?
Physical
Vapour Deposition (PVD) is an environmentally
friendly vacuum coating process that provides a
brilliant and durable finish.
I've
bought the wrong size ring, can I exchange it?
Yes.
Any of our items can be exchanged for another no
matter what the reason. If you require a different
size, email us to find out if we have the other size
you need.
You
have an item on eBay that isn't on your website, can
it be put on your site?
Yes.
Email us the eBay item number and we'll put it on
the web site for you.
You
have an item on your website that isn't in your eBay
shop, can it be put on eBay?
Yes.
Email us the product ID number and we'll put it in
our eBay shop for you.
Can
the rings be re-sized?
Plain
bands yes, but most other rings, no. This is because
of the designs they have on them being distorted
through re-sizing.
I
have not received my order, what should I do?
If
you have not received your order after 5 working
days, email us asap so that we can sort it out for
you.
Are
the black rings glossy or matt?
They
are glossy. Some of the photographs make them look
matt because they are photographed on a matt
surface.
Does
the cord that is supplied with the pendant have a
clasp?
No.
Most retailers just sell the pendants on their own,
but we provide a length of cord with ours. This is
simply a 24" piece of cord which you can cut
and tie to suit. Cords with clasps are
available to purchase from our store.
I
have spent under £50 but would like my order sent
via Special Delivery..
If
you have placed an order that is less than £50 and
would like Special Delivery, write this at the
bottom of the order form under "special
instructions" or email us.
I
don't like the design on the earrings I bought, can
I swap them?
No.
Unfortunately, for hygiene purposes we cannot accept
any body piercing returns.
I
want to buy several of the same ring, but it says 1
in stock..
Our
stock has such a high turnover that we might
actually have more than what is listed. If you
require multiples of the same item, email us to find
out if it is possible.
You
have an auction on eBay, can it be available to buy
now?
If
an eBay auction has no current bids, we can on most
items, end the auction to list either in our eBay
shop or on our website. Email us to find out.
I
don't know what ring size I need, can you help?
Have
a look at our ring
size guide
to see if that helps.
Can
the bracelets be adjusted?
We
can remove links to make the bracelets shorter for
you, but we do not stock extra links to make them
longer.
I
have paid via a PayPal eCheque, why has my item not
been sent yet?
A
PayPal eCheque can take up to 10 days to clear and
we do not despatch orders until this has cleared.
Is
the jewellery attracted by magnets?
No.
Stainless Steel jewellery is not magnetic because of
the composition of the alloy. Magnetic therapy
bracelets have magnets placed inside the bracelet
(sometimes visible, sometimes hidden).
I
have emailed you but not had a reply..
If
you have not received a reply from us within 48
hours, please email us again. If you have
contacted us via the eBay message system, please do
not "hide your email address" as we will
not be able to reply.
I
would like to buy from your eBay store, can I pay in
US dollars?
Our
prices are in UK £ only. However, when you pay via
PayPal, it will show you the amount in your own
currency.
Do
you have a catalogue?
No.
Our stock has a high turnover - we always have new
stock arriving weekly and it would be impossible to
provide an up-to-date printed catalogue.
